God is with us no matter what

Today being Sunday after church the pastor, Ian at the church I go to came and had communion with John and I at GF Strong. Today we went downstairs to the prayer room to share this time together. Before we did that however John wanted a precis of today's sermon. It was on God is with us in our high's and low's - in our family, in our work, and in our community from the story of Joseph. This is certainly been our experience in the last 5 months. Pray that we won't forget this important lesson.

  1. Greetings from a Powell River that is closed in but warm. Goodness, weather-wise this has been a great winter ......for the bugs.

There has been a story on the BBC News about an assisted suicide. The mother helped the daughter. The mother was given a conditional sentence and the country seems to have rallied around her saying that she was very brave etc.

I read the story and thought.... oh my! The pain that must have gone into that decision and the feeling of being lost and empty with no hope.

First of all they need Jesus.

And second of all they needed to read your blog. The resting in HIM, the hope in HIM, the peace in HIM.

I have been pointing out this blog to others. Some are not believers and have not heard what they think, but at least one believer has been in tears because of your words. She is encouraged to carry on in her very sad situation.

So be of good cheer. HE is being glorified.

And you are a ray of enouragement in this sometimes somber world.

  2. I have been thinking on prayer. Not only prayer for you, John and Laverne, but also for Katie, and the family members who are helping out. For those who are comforters and encouragers. For those who can help out physically and those who are in the back ground praying.

Prayers for those who have heard the Word already and are being encouraged through your journey and for those who need to hear that word. For those who have shared this story and for those who still need to do this and let the Lord guide them to an opportunity to share your story and let God use your blog to speak His words.
I have been thinking on God being with us and we with God, allowing Him to speak to us and through us as we open ourselves up to listen to Him.
(and listening, to me means; Hearing what has been said and acting upon it)

Thanks for staying connected to God and to us
