Sharing Jesus

This morning I was visited by the pastor of my sister-in-law's church. Ian came and we shared the Lord together. First of all we told stories about baptisms-they just got a new baptismal water heating system, then Ian shared his message on Jude (It doesn't have very many verses) from Sunday morning. Then he brought communion to me and after that we prayed. It reminds me once again that it is not the place (church or hospital) but the heart of the believer and the presence of the Holy Spirit that allows us to share together. Acts 2:42 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.

  1. Hi John & Laverne & Katie,

I just spent some time catching up on your blog. I'm so excited to hear that you are eating and Marsha told me this afternoon how well you're doing with the 'rescue breathing'. Good job! I love that you are getting to put together the Christmas skit for the nurses. I'd love to hear what you come up with.

I'm so glad that you are encouraged by the CD's that you're listening to. Marsha told me how much you are enjoying them. We have many other books on CD and Focus on the Family Radio Theatre productions. Just let Marsha know if you'd like to borrow some and I'll make sure they get to her. If you are interested in history, we have a huge series of CD's that Frank found very interesting. If you'd like a list of the ones we have, ask Marsha to let me know and I'll put the list together.

John and Laverne, you are such an amazing reminder of the goodness of God in the midst of trial. Keep your eyes on Jesus. So easy to say, often so difficult to do.

    Take care,
    Sherri Piechnik

  2. Hi John,

It's dinner time for you and almost bed time for me. Scott is already in bed since he gets up at 4:30 am to leave the house at 5:30 am. During the week we don't see much of each other.

Our Halifax library has a system in place where members can go on line and download books. After the allowed time has expired it somehow blocks unless one renews. Maybe the Vancouver library has a similar service available. You could go on virtual Library excursions.

Prayers and God's blessings to both of you.

    Love Scott and Elke

    Hi John and family:

Books on tape. YUMMY. You can actually listen, in a marathon session, to War and Peace. John you have probably read it more then once, but every thing beyond page 5 is crisp and clean in my copy.

    Enjoy composing the Christmas skit.

You are all doing so very well.

  4. Hi uncle John, That is really cool about sharing the message and such. Also, I am curious about what you come up with for the Christmas play, I bet it will be really neat. I had a biology midterm yesterday and I think it went well :).
