More Tests

John has a low grade fever and so they did more tests today and repeated others. The fever and the tests have left him tired but more encouraged than yesterday. Tonight he found out that the chest X-ray showed he has some consolidation. We were praying that some test would help in diagnosing what the problem is for which I am thankful however I am disappointed with the diagnosis as it means he will not be going back to GF Strong on Monday. John and I were really looking forward to getting back there. Pray that we will have the patience to continue to persevere at VGH.

  1. Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength....so Father God, Jesus, Holy Spirit we as for a fresh annointing for both Lavern and John. That you will renew their strength. Their hope is in YOU, so please show them YOUR way, guide them into the truth , let them see today as YOU see it, from YOUR perspective....we ask for peace that will transcend any of their understandings...let YOUR truth, trump the facts in their Lives!! And we ask that YOU give them rest.

    So much love,

  2. I took my Family Virtues Guide from the shelf and opened to page 201.
Patience - "O you who believe, seek courage in fortitude and prayer, for God is with those who are patient and persevere - Al-Qur'an 2:153
*Calmy tolerate a delay or confusion
*Are willing to wait for things you want
*Set goals and stick with them until they are completed
*Do something now which will help you in the future
*Accept things you cannot control with humour and grace
*Are gentle with others when they make mistakes
*Rely on God to help you persevere
John & Laverne you have shown us and others all these signs. Trust that (as in before) John is getting the help from the caregivers that he needs right now. Virtues: The Gifts Within

  3. Hi John and Laverne

Besides telling you that we are praying for you, there is nothing that I can say that has not been said before. I can give you comforting words, I can tell you that you have to trust in the Lord etc. But I know you have heard all this before and I know that you do trust in Him.(There is not doubt about that, you are living your faith and showing it to us)

These are the times that you are asking the questions that you need to ask. Those questions that you think you really should not ask as a christian, for you should be trusting. But this is the time that your faith is real in these questions and God wants to hear them. He hears your trust in the fact that you are asking, in the "why's" and "how's", the "what in the world for's" and all these other questions that all of us would have in this situation and that make us human.
I pray that you will continue to ask Him the difficult questions and seek His way as He is guiding you and hemming you in, in his love and his caring comforting hands. He is molding and shaping not only you in this, but us as well

Sending you my love, my prayers and continue to follow your progress as you are so kindly willing to share

  5. This is a comment I wrote a month ago but was not able to send it as I didn't understand how to do it. This morning I spoke to Melinda about it so let's see if I can do a better job!

Hi John! I will start by saying that this is Gloria Edgecombe and I am writing for both Ron and myself. He is off at the Spanish church right now after preaching at 16th Ave. Gospel Chapel this morning. I would like to be more in touch with you and write more often but for now I just want to apologize for my neglect in not writing you sooner. No excuse, just life that somehow passes us by without us knowing. I have followed your blog from the beginning and have enjoyed it so much. I want you to know that you are a blessing and an inspiration to all of us as you tell us about life from your perspective and of all that the Lord has done for you and shown you. We will be praying for you tomorrow and that the Lord would have His way. I have enjoyed Laverne very much in our Ladies Bible Study group and getting to know her a bit better. I'm sure you will agree that she is a wonderful woman. All for now but we will be back. God bless and keep you today. Love and prayers, Ron and Gloria Edgecombe
