Another visit to emergency

John continues to have problems with his blood pressure and fluid intake. Because of this, this afternoon we made a trip to VGH emergency to get a couple of litres of IV fluid as they don't do IV's at GF Strong. By just after 10pm we were back at GF Strong and John was so happy to be back. They had saved his dinner for him so I fed him that and tucked him in for the night.

Hi John,
It's good to hear you are back at GF Strong, rehydrated and your blood pressure stable!

I'm not sure if you knew this or not but Shawn was scheduled for knee surgery (ACL & PCL) this past Thursday morning at Campbell River Hospital, we arrived at the hospital for 6:30 am addmittance the surgery was for an 8 AM start, the nurse went to see if they were ready for Shawn in the OR and returned with the news of his surgery being cancelled...it was explained to us that there wasn't a room available for him to go into after coming out of recovery, they were over capacity as it was with sick people, many with H1N1 not well enough to go back into the community.
Shawn's knee surgery has been rescheduled for NOV 19th please pray for him, for all to go well for a sucessful surgery, comfortable healing and rehabilitation.

Please also pray for our finances as we have had to pay out of pocket for accomodation, meals, gas and childcare for 3 days, our bank account is over drawn right now and we will have to do it all over again in 2 weeks.
Shawn is scheduled to be off work for the next 6 months.

Calm in the storm - blessings and praises

1 ATV was on the trail minutes after Johns accident. He was able to get help ASAP while Laverne was able to stay and assist.

2 The cement blocks had been removed from the beginning of the logging road so that the ambulance could back in right away.

3 The nurses at the hospital were the right ones. One worked with John and one graduated with Laverne. They were Connie and Ellen.

4 Good friends Lee & Don, Bob & Pat were at the hospital quickly.

5 Laverne was able to fly with John on the Medivac helicopter as this is unusual.

6 In vancouver Beth Sykes a Cascades church friend was coming on shift on ICU after a week in Mexico.

7 Tom Freeman a friend was in town to Visit John the first day.

8 The many prayers and help. Those who have helped by taking DVBS, feeding cat, gathering belongings, (and bringing them down), and getting the bikes home.

9 Karen from 100 Huntley St called out friend Patricia and said she sensed that a close friend needed prayer.

10 Sister Eleanor was able to get a quick flight and be there before surgery.

11 John was able and ready to get a tracheotomy in good time instead of days or weeks later.
