Healing

I have been in GF Strong twice and each time some infection has caused me to go back to VGH. This reminds me of the story of Achan in Joshua 7. In order for Israel to advance they needed purity in the camp. In order for me to have rehab I have to be free of infection. The consequences were drastic for Achan and his family and for me to sit in VGH unable to do much rehab seems drastic, too. GF Strong won't have a bed for me until January. Please pray my healing will be complete and I will be ready to more on in my rehab. Thank you for all your prayers. You have no idea how much they mean to me.

  1. Hello John...again I must offer profuse thanks for the way you are sharing your life and goings on so clearly with us all...giving us direction in our prayers for you, sharing the triumphs and the disappointments...you make it all so real, even though we are not right there with you. I am thankful for your clarity and openness. I wonder if you really understand how far-reaching this is, your blog.

It's flowing beautifully into Christmastime...we just sang three Carols by Candlelight concerts in Dwight Hall...another opportunity to pour the story of Jesus' birth out in to the community, when folks are willing to come and hear the story told over and over in song. I think about how the truth of God's love is goes from us and wonder how it may grow within those with listening ears. And also the singers, as they perform these beautiful works...repeating the words of truth over and over, that eventually there will be fruition in them as well.

You are so very loved, by so many. Thank you for everything, and blessings be multiplied upon you especially through Christmastime.

  2. Hi John and family.

Am in Powell River where the snow is a skiff on the ground and the side roads are like sheets of ice. The crews are doing their best to pour de-icing on all the roads and the driver I saw yesterday looked exhausted.

Having said that it is very beautiful and we are thankful that we are warm and cosy inside.

And VERY thankful that we can wake up every morning and there are words of encouragment from LaVern and yourself. Be of good cheer. HE is with you always, always, always.

We are so honoured that you have graciously allowed us into your lives.

And we continue to pray. Please continue to pray for us.

  3. Hi John,
We are praying that God allows your body to fight any further infections so you may be in GF Strong in January..

We were in Church, KCCC, this morning singing beautiful songs... When we were singing one song, (unfortunately I forget the title) I thought I heard your booming voice singing the lines...
...Lift up your voice and give Him the glory.....
I turned to Gerry and said " That sounds like John" and he affirmed yes indeed it did. Needless to say I got shivers. It was so real!!

We miss you guys so much, you give so much joy and energy to everyone...

Hopefully, we will see you this week on our trip to Vancouver.

Take care, love to you and Laverne,
    Gerry and Alma
