Continuous Care

Wednesday, September 9, 2009
I woke up this morning with three people around me. They were busy coughing, suctioning, and turning me. The nurse came with medications and then a bed bath, physio and a lot of other things.
Afterwards I lay thinking about it all. Continuous Care. It reminded me of a swimming pool I saw in Africa. It had been built for the Pan Africa games. After the games were over the show piece was no longer needed. They stopped taking care of it. It was cracked, only half full and covered in green slime. I wonder what I would look like if the care stopped. Probably much worse. thank the Lord for a dedicated team of continuous care givers. John
Today they decided that John has a bit of pneumonia. Please pray as they want to treat this agressively as possible but not give antibiotics unless absolutely necessary Laverne

  2. Good morning:

Ah, pneumonia. Drat. But this too shall pass.

I just want to let you know that the routine in my morning is: I read the world news first which is mostly all alarming and then I come to your blog for truth and peace.

Continuing to pray for each of you.

Thank you for making MY day brighter.

  4. because of the continous care our parents gave us, we are here today, being the person we turned out to be. Because of the continous care of our Father in heaven, we really are who we are today, no matter where our physical bodies are.

I have thanked my parents for taking such good care of me, but I praise my heavenly Father, for always being there to do the work that my parents were not and are not able to do.
I am glad that He did not make me perfect, so that His loving hands are constantly at work in me. I am also thankful that we always are a project in progress, no matter where we are physically and spiritually.

So I continue to pray for you all that He will continue to shape and form you into the person that He has in mind and to show you what you can do for Him from here on.

Aren't we lucky to have such a great and loving Father?

  6. Hey John--True, the pool was a show piece and it was no longer taken care of and it was not needed anymore. But YOU are a priceless MASTERPIECE! Intricately designed by the MASTER Himself. The continuous care brings blessings beyond words--but beyond the medical continuous care, you ultimately have God's Continuous care which you are soooo fully aware of! Nothing has changed from God's perspective--He IS always, always in control of the lives He felt were worthy to create for His Purpose. You are one of those precious lives John Dalziel! Taking a little sidestep, I wanted you to know that I looked up how to spell your last name correctly. I too LOVE words, John--I am in the process of writing a book and I thought back once again to Laverne's message yesterday--about communication. I'm learning the neatest stuff about you, and when she talked about the challenges re: your extensive vocabulary, I thought--"Wow, I bet I could get some really super words from "John's Thesaurus" instead of those (quite boring--but educational) standard thesaurus's. If I get stuck one day I may write to ask you for an alternative word when I know what I want to write but cannot find the "that's IT!" word, if that's o.k. with you....and as long as the fee is reasonable.(giggle) I'm not so good at sharing my heart and my thoughts in two sentences--perhaps that's why I'm sometimes nick-named "Chatty Kathie". But I do care so very much and I want you and your family to know that. I want to leave you with Psalm 139:1-18--it is my all-time favorite passage of Scripture. I know that you know it John, because you spoke about part of it the other day--but today, I pray that you will receive a particularly special blessing by hearing God's intimate whispers to you John, through this passage in His Word. Love, Your sister in Christ, Kathie Pritchard
