Step by Step

Today I feel a lot like Joshua in Chapter 5. He had already began walking with the Lord step by step over the Jordan River (Chapter 4) and I have been taken step by step as directed by the medical team. But now in Chapter 5 Joshua meet the captain of the Lord's host who explains he isn't conforming to anyone but if Joshua he can choose if he wants to go with God. Laverne and I have requested a family meeting with the doctors and other caregivers. Please pray (as it should be this week) that we would have clarity as to the goals and means of reaching them. May we obtain understanding and cooperation so we can go forward and I can get the ball rolling. We want to be like Joshua and choose to go with God's plan for us.

Praying that the meeting goes well...and that God takes control and shows everyone the way to go..

John, I hope to see you as part of a trip to Vancouver on Friday Dec. 11. As of this moment, I know I should look for you at Vancouver General. Now just in case they transfer you to GF Strong before then, please put it in the b log right away so I can change my travel direction slightly.

If I should know something else, you can use dwrogers at telus period net.

Calm in the storm - blessings and praises

1 ATV was on the trail minutes after Johns accident. He was able to get help ASAP while Laverne was able to stay and assist.

2 The cement blocks had been removed from the beginning of the logging road so that the ambulance could back in right away.

3 The nurses at the hospital were the right ones. One worked with John and one graduated with Laverne. They were Connie and Ellen.

4 Good friends Lee & Don, Bob & Pat were at the hospital quickly.

5 Laverne was able to fly with John on the Medivac helicopter as this is unusual.

6 In vancouver Beth Sykes a Cascades church friend was coming on shift on ICU after a week in Mexico.

7 Tom Freeman a friend was in town to Visit John the first day.

8 The many prayers and help. Those who have helped by taking DVBS, feeding cat, gathering belongings, (and bringing them down), and getting the bikes home.

9 Karen from 100 Huntley St called out friend Patricia and said she sensed that a close friend needed prayer.

10 Sister Eleanor was able to get a quick flight and be there before surgery.

11 John was able and ready to get a tracheotomy in good time instead of days or weeks later.
