As anyone who has travelled with John would know, the Minister's Cat is his favourite game for car trips. And, if you have ever played this game with him, you will know that his superior vocabulary makes him an expert. To play, one person starts by using a descriptive word to describe the 'minister's cat' beginning with a-z. This blog is dedicated to John, in order to update friends and family about his journey and provide areas of prayer.

A Day in Emergency
Today I went to GF Strong a little early as John had an appointment for an xray at UBC and he was to leave at 9:30. I got there at 9 and he was in his chair ready to go just waiting for the transport to come. He then told me he wasn't feeling well, that he felt pressure in his chest. When I told the doctor she cancelled his trip to UBC and we made a trip to VGH instead. They wanted to rule out any heart problems and it turned out they did, but they have to wait and do blood work 8 hours after the chest pain. As a consequence we got back to GF Strong at about 9:30 tonight. Please pray that John will feel stronger. It is a bit demoralizing to be going off to VGH every second week.

What a shock, definitely praying for strength, I know John has a loving heart, praying for a lot of health to go with that love.

Goodness.... how un-nerving.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you all.
Please, do not feel demoralized. John's body has experienced trauma, and as we all now know from your daily writings, the recovery is lengthy. Spiritually however, the two of you have amazing strength.
ReplyDeletePraise the Lord that John's heart is healthy.
Love and prayers,
Kathy
Hi John and Laverne,
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine how difficult this all must be for you. A friend of mine has a Mother who is also a ventilated quad for 8 years now! She said that the first year for her was the most difficult. Many trips to emergency for various ailments. She said that after the first year things began to run smoothly for her and is quite comfortable now.
Kathy is right. John's body has been traumatized. It takes time to heal these traumas.
Stay strong.
