Finishing Touches

Yesterday I received my new chair – colour – orange brule – Yah! There were some special things they did for my chair to accommodate my ventilator. It reminded me of a button that was popular about 30 years ago that said PBPGINFWMY – (please be patient, God is not finished with me yet) because after receiving the chair and working with getting it right today we still had to get some more adjustments made. Thank you all for staying with us through the long finishing process

John the family in Trail doubts if God will ever be finished with you. You continue to amaze and inspire all who read your blog and watch you strive and conquer another obstacle.

You have been waiting for quite awhile now for it to arrive; the colors sound great!!!

God is always adjusting us and reminding us of His presence..

Don't know what colour Orange Brule is...but think it is wonderful you finally have your own chair. Now I bet its on to new adventures. I love your blog and keep it as one of my home pages so I can follow your progress and am amazed at how well you are doing and how faithful the spirit is.

Hi John, from Paola Durando in Kingston, ON. After reading Joe Dwornik's obituary, I discovered your blog. I remember you and Joe as being such wonderful advocates for the public library. I was unaware of your accident until today. Please keep blogging--not only does it keep friends and family updated, but your experiences are of value to others. Your faith is strong and so, I see, is your sense of humour! Paola

Calm in the storm - blessings and praises

1 ATV was on the trail minutes after Johns accident. He was able to get help ASAP while Laverne was able to stay and assist.

2 The cement blocks had been removed from the beginning of the logging road so that the ambulance could back in right away.

3 The nurses at the hospital were the right ones. One worked with John and one graduated with Laverne. They were Connie and Ellen.

4 Good friends Lee & Don, Bob & Pat were at the hospital quickly.

5 Laverne was able to fly with John on the Medivac helicopter as this is unusual.

6 In vancouver Beth Sykes a Cascades church friend was coming on shift on ICU after a week in Mexico.

7 Tom Freeman a friend was in town to Visit John the first day.

8 The many prayers and help. Those who have helped by taking DVBS, feeding cat, gathering belongings, (and bringing them down), and getting the bikes home.

9 Karen from 100 Huntley St called out friend Patricia and said she sensed that a close friend needed prayer.

10 Sister Eleanor was able to get a quick flight and be there before surgery.

11 John was able and ready to get a tracheotomy in good time instead of days or weeks later.
