The Good Samaritan Luke 10:25-37

Today I feel like the man who was going up to Jericho because next week I am going to Evergreen Extended Care Unit while Laverne and Maria go down to Vancouver! I stayed at the ECU when I came back from Vancouver and the staff there reminds me of the Good Samaritan and how he put himself out for someone who needed care. I am feeling much better than when I first came home and I really appreciate the staff who will be taking over my care to give Laverne, Maria and Amanda a rest. I look forward renewing my acquaintance with staff and residents. It will be a change for me as well. For those of you in PR I will be there from Jan 21-31 and my room is Fir 202. I would love to have visitors in the afternoon or evening. The mornings will be pretty busy.

How wonderful that you have a good place to go and that you have
such a positive attitude. May the time be what your caregivers need to and renew and rest.

Wish we could stop by and see you. Have never been to Powell River but will see if this year brings us the opportunity of coming. Take care ...relax..let go and let God...hugs

John, It will be nice for the ladies to get away for a little while...and you will be able to catch up with friends you met at Evergreen place....We hope everyone drops by....

Calm in the storm - blessings and praises

1 ATV was on the trail minutes after Johns accident. He was able to get help ASAP while Laverne was able to stay and assist.

2 The cement blocks had been removed from the beginning of the logging road so that the ambulance could back in right away.

3 The nurses at the hospital were the right ones. One worked with John and one graduated with Laverne. They were Connie and Ellen.

4 Good friends Lee & Don, Bob & Pat were at the hospital quickly.

5 Laverne was able to fly with John on the Medivac helicopter as this is unusual.

6 In vancouver Beth Sykes a Cascades church friend was coming on shift on ICU after a week in Mexico.

7 Tom Freeman a friend was in town to Visit John the first day.

8 The many prayers and help. Those who have helped by taking DVBS, feeding cat, gathering belongings, (and bringing them down), and getting the bikes home.

9 Karen from 100 Huntley St called out friend Patricia and said she sensed that a close friend needed prayer.

10 Sister Eleanor was able to get a quick flight and be there before surgery.

11 John was able and ready to get a tracheotomy in good time instead of days or weeks later.
