As anyone who has travelled with John would know, the Minister's Cat is his favourite game for car trips. And, if you have ever played this game with him, you will know that his superior vocabulary makes him an expert. To play, one person starts by using a descriptive word to describe the 'minister's cat' beginning with a-z. This blog is dedicated to John, in order to update friends and family about his journey and provide areas of prayer.

Christmas from a Wheelchair
Today I am feeling a little discouraged as I have had a bad time with spasms. When I feel like this I remember a story from the life of David when he was discouraged he found his strength in the Lord-! Samuel 30:6 so this evening I have been asking God to encourage me using Isaiah 41:10 as a promise from God (fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand) I would also enlist your prayers for this Christmastime and thank you for your support for the past couple of years.

I have been praying for you both since your accident John. The past few days I sensed that you had a special need, so have prayed more. I pray that you will truly feel strengthened, helped and upheld by God's righteous right hand. I pray that just as you have blessed so many, you also will be blessed. A joyous Christmas to you, Laverne and Katie.
ReplyDeleteYou and Laverne are always in our prayers John. You've both blessed us with your teaching and just being you. May God wrap His Loving Arms around you. Wishing you a Blessed and Merry Christmas.

Aunty Sheila and the family in Trail think that you show the world the true meaning of Christmas. You show it year round in your faith and your actions before and since your accident.
ReplyDeleteChristmas isn't so much about getting gifts as it is about giving.The greatest gift that you have is your out look on life and your strong faith. Your faith shines as bright as the Christmas Star did on the first Christmas.
We are all praying that the spasm ease off and that you have a wonderful Christmas. Our greatest gifts this year is still having your blog to read and that both you and Lois are still with us to celebrate this special time of the year.

Hi John.
ReplyDeleteGood to hear from you. Sorry to hear that you have been struggling with the spasms. I pray that they will settle down for you. Wishing you, Laverne, Katie and your caregivers a very merry Christmas.
Hold on to the following verse when you become discouraged.
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
You have demonstrated great strength over the past few years and I pray that God will continue to provide that for you.
